“A Fortean feast in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland”
The book covers not only ghosts, fairies, witchcraft, magic, demons, monsters, psychic experiences, UFOs, earth mysteries and the like, but also:
This is no ‘true believer’s’ manual, but neither is it an attempt to debunk or explain away everything using the dull edge of rationalism. Rather the book simply notes that people have experienced weird things – and continue to do so – and sets out to document how this has manifested in Perthshire.
Structure and Contents Easy to use - everything mysterious about a town or village can be found in one place. Rather like a paranormal Pevsner, the book proceeds geographically rather than alphabetically, so that the visitor can easily follow related sites. Some entries are star rated for interest & visitable locations. Cross-references where entries share the subject matter. For example, Meigle contains a cross-reference to Alyth because both share aspects of the local legend about Guinevere and King Arthur. Comprehensive Bibliography and Index. 100 black and white photographs.
